This Privacy Policy explains how atey20 (“atey20”, “we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit or use the websites, mobile experiences, emails, and online services that link to this Policy (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: you provide it directly, it’s gathered automatically, or it comes from partners who help deliver the Service.

  • Account & contact data: email address, name, restaurant affiliation, or other details you submit when you join the waitlist, create an account, purchase a plan, or contact support.
  • Location data: if you grant permission we collect precise device location to surface nearby restaurants. Otherwise we may approximate your city/region from your IP address.
  • Usage data: pages visited, search queries, filters, dishes you view or favorite, interactions with paywall prompts, and telemetry about how frequently features are used.
  • Uploads & submissions: menus, dish photos, nutrition labels, comments, and other content you choose to share. For “Identify” and builder tools we may run OCR/vision models to extract text and estimate nutrition.
  • Device & diagnostic data: browser type, operating system, device identifiers, IP address, cookie identifiers, and error logs that help us secure and troubleshoot the Service.
  • Payments: if you purchase a Day Pass or Pro subscription, Stripe collects payment details on our behalf. We never store full card numbers.
  • Communications: emails and messages you send to support, including feedback, takedown requests, or data-access questions.

How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service—including search results, nutrition estimates, and community features.
  • Personalize recommendations and remember your preferences (favorites, filters, recently viewed items).
  • Process transactions, deliver receipts, and manage subscriptions.
  • Communicate with you about updates, surveys, security alerts, or marketing (opt out anytime).
  • Highlight restaurants or community contributions, such as featuring submitted dishes or photos.
  • Monitor for abuse, enforce our Terms and UGC Guidelines, and keep the Service secure.
  • Analyze aggregated usage to understand trends and improve product decisions.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use first-party cookies and local storage to remember preferences (for example, paywall limits or favorite dishes) and to support analytics. You can adjust cookie settings in your browser, but some features may not function properly if cookies are disabled. We do not use third-party ad networks or sell personal information.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share data only when necessary to operate the Service or when required by law.

  • Service providers: trusted vendors that process data on our behalf:
  • Hosting & build: Vercel (hosting/CDN).
  • Database & authentication: Supabase (accounts, favorites, submissions).
  • Payments: Stripe (checkout, invoicing, subscription management).
  • Email & messaging: Resend, Mailchimp (transactional and marketing email).
  • Maps & places: Google Maps Platform (location search, geocoding, routing).
  • AI processing: OpenAI (vision/text models for Identify and builder tools).

These providers may access personal information needed to perform services for us. They are obligated to handle the data according to our instructions and applicable law.

  • Legal reasons: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect rights, safety, or property.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

Your choices & rights

  • Location: manage precise location permissions in your browser or device settings. You can always search by address instead.
  • Marketing emails: click “unsubscribe” in any marketing email to opt out.
  • Access, deletion, or correction: email support@atey20.com to request a copy of your data, update information, or ask us to delete data tied to your account or email address.

Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Email list entries remain until you unsubscribe. Uploaded photos, nutrition estimates, and moderation logs may be retained to improve the Service unless you request deletion. Payment records are maintained as required by law.

Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure; use the Service at your own risk. Notify us immediately at support@atey20.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

International data transfers

We operate from the United States and the information we collect is processed and stored in the U.S. By using the Service you consent to the transfer of information to the U.S. or other jurisdictions that may not provide the same data-protection level as your home country.

Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy when our practices change. If we make material changes we will update the date above and, when appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Policy.
